Position Overview
A growing government services organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to support invoicing, collections, and administrative accounting activities. This role will help manage a high volume of customer invoices across multiple contract vehicles while ensuring timely collections and accurate account maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have prior accounts receivable experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and process customer invoices accurately and timely.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Conduct collection activities while maintaining professional customer relationships.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and account issues.
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
- Assist with reporting and administrative accounting tasks as needed.
- Support accounting operations during periods of increased contract activity.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure billing accuracy and timely payment processing.
Qualifications
Required
- 1-2 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- Experience with invoice preparation and billing processes.
- Collections and payment follow-up experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems.
Preferred
- Experience in a government contracting environment.
- Exposure to large-dollar or high-volume invoicing.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar enterprise accounting systems.
- Accounts Payable, payroll, or cost accounting experience.
- Experience working within a small business environment.
Work Environment
- Fully onsite position.
- Standard business hours with some scheduling flexibility.
